Books

Congratulations! Writing a book is a big accomplishment. It takes a lot of time and dedication to complete a writing project of this magnitude.

So, you’re finally finished (or close to finished!). You've read over your manuscript a couple of times and have passed it around your family to read too. You’ve received great feedback, and you’re feeling pretty confident. You might be exhausted after all the time and effort that went into completing your manuscript and are impatient to get this thing published. You picked up a couple of spelling mistakes, and your friend noticed a typo too. Surely that’s good enough for a proofread before sending it to the printer, isn’t it? No!! Stop!! Hire a proofreader first!!

Writers can become so immersed in what they have written that they often overlook errors. Writers tend to read what they wanted to write, not what they have actually written. Employing the services of a professional editor and proofreader guarantees an impartial perspective and will improve the quality and clarity of the writing.

Whether you are planning to self-publish your work or you are looking to submit your manuscript to a publisher, there is no room for mistakes. Proofreading is a non-negotiable part of the process.

Grammar and spelling mistakes do not go down well with readers or publishers. Untidy sentences, incorrect punctuation, wordiness, and transposed letters are just some of the errors which distract the reader and disrupt the smooth flow of the writing. A book full of typos will drag a reader away from the story. Instead of being immersed in your plot, the reader is forced to mentally correct the mistakes.

When faced with a book that has obviously not been proofread, the reader will wonder if the writer simply couldn’t be bothered to invest in their work. And if that is the case, then why should the reader invest in reading it?

So, don’t lose patience; invest a little bit more time and care into your work and hire me to proofread your manuscript. I will work alongside you to ensure your story will shine through uninterrupted and create the professionalism required to impress readers and publishers alike.

Thanks for submitting.
